This new serenity prayer so very much applies to the present relational diffculty I'm having with my son, Immanuel.
As a mom, I have to not only learn and have the courage to accept him as himself but also have that same courage to never cease and never give up in my role no matter how demanding, draining and tiring it gets. Most importantly I also need to realize when I, myself, need to learn how to manage my own weaknesses and human tendencies. And to always remember to come to the Lord.
